Katey Sagal
A versatile, gifted actor, Katey Sagal
is a skilled singer and actress who was a master of comedy and drama. She was
most well-known for her performance in the role of Peg Bundy, a brilliantly
bold, unmistakable character from the Fox show Married... with Children (1987).
During the show's lengthy run she received nominations for three Golden Globes
and two American Comedy Award. Peg Bundy was as popular and popular as Katey as
she continued to appear in television sitcoms. Katey also played roles which were
totally different from the one that initially caught her national attention. In
2008, she portrayed the character as Gemma Teller Morrow on Sons of Anarchy
(2008). The character was the mother of the Hell's Angels-esque California
biker group. In 2011, her performance in this role was recognized with an award
for her performance in the Golden Globe Award as Best Performance by an actor
in a TV Series-Drama. Catherine Louise Sagal was a child of Sara Zwilling, a
director and singer, and Boris Sagal - renowned television and film directors.
Born in Los Angeles, she started performing when she was five years old. She
was a vocalist and studied acting at the California Institute of the Arts.
After working as a singer waitress in her "salad" and then joining the
band "The Group With No Name" before getting an opportunity to work
with Gene Simmons, who was in the 1970s group KISS. She also gained valuable
experiences as a backup record singer for Simmons and other stars such as Bob
Dylan and Etta James. As one of Bette Midler's "Harlettes" she also
was a dynamic performer when she sang live with her in Bette’s avant-garde
stage shows which were staged from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.
